Mobile Community Action Head Start/Early Head Start is a high quality, comprehensive, child development SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM that serves over 900 children, ranging in age from 6 weeks to four-years-old in 14 locations in Mobile and Washington counties. Head Start/Early Head Start services include: health, dental, mental health, and nutrition services; family services, parent education and parent leadership opportunities; educational screenings and assessments, educational activities both in the classroom and outside; and services for children with disabilities.
Mobile Community Action, Inc., Head Start/Early Head Start has developed School Readiness Goals that ensure that:
- Children possess skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary for success in school and for later learning and life.
- Parents and families are engaged in the long-term, lifelong success of their child.
- Head Start/Early Head Start, schools, and families work together in transitioning the children to kindergarten.
